How Did I Get Here? is the result of nearly two decades of research, and a desire to quell the idea that genealogy is a dry and boring study. What began as a weekend hobby quickly became a passion, and reached far beyond a single family tree. Over the years, we have researched the ancestry of dozens of people, creating trees that feature highly organized and well researched documents, DNA analysis, photographs, newspaper clippings, and amusing biographies. Our belief is that there is no more fascinating question to ponder than how we all got here, and no more interesting journey than trying to discover the answer.
Robin J. Williams is a writer, editor, educator, and genealogist. Her passion for genealogy was ignited in 2005 when two of her relatives died without her ever having met them. It was then that she realized just how little she knew about her own family. It was then that she first asked herself "how did I get here?" In the 19 years since she first asked that question, Robin has not only discovered many stories about her own family, but has helped dozens of other families connect with one another and uncover their own histories. In recent years, she has combined her love of writing, art, genealogy, and humour to create one-of-a-kind genealogical art and literature for herself and her clients, alike. And, you'll be happy to know, she did eventually learn to read her books right side up.
